Artificial intelligence (AI) is the intelligence of machines or software, as opposed to the intelligence of humans or animals. It is a field of study in computer science that develops and studies intelligent machines. Such machines may be called AIs.

Some common terms

Provide a short glossary of some of the most common terms ( up to 10 ) used when explaining how to use Artificial Intelligence tools. eg explain prompt and chatbot

  1. AI (Artificial Intelligence): A branch of computer science dealing with the simulation of intelligent behavior in computers or the capacity of a machine to imitate intelligent human behavior.
  2. Machine Learning: A subset of AI that uses statistical techniques to enable machines to improve with experience. Machines learn from past computations to produce reliable and informed decisions.
  3. Chatbot: An AI software designed to interact with humans in their natural language. These interactions can be conducted via messaging apps, websites, mobile apps or through the telephone.
  4. Prompt: In AI context, the term “prompt” refers to the input that is provided to an AI model, which it uses as a basis to generate an output or result.
  5. Neural Network: A series of algorithms that attempts to recognize underlying relationships in a set of data through a process that mimics how the human brain operates.
  6. Algorithm: A set of rules followed by the AI to achieve a specific end goal. It is essentially a sequence of statistical processing steps.
  7. Training Data: This is the data used to train an AI model. It includes both the input data and the corresponding expected output. The model uses this data to understand patterns and improve over time.
  8. Deep Learning: A specific subset of machine learning that uses neural networks with multiple layers (Deep Neural Network). This is a technique that teaches computers to do what comes naturally to humans: learn from experience.
  9. Natural Language Processing (NLP): An aspect of AI that deals with machine’s ability to understand and interact in human language.
  10. Reinforcement Learning: A method of training AI where the model learns by interacting with its environment and receiving rewards for performing correctly or punishments for performing incorrectly. This encourages the AI model to make better decisions over time.

Some common AI acronyms

Generate a table of common AI acronyms with the term in the first column and a short description in the second. Include AI, AGI, GPT, LLM. Format the output as a Gutenberg table block

Acronym Description
AI Artificial Intelligence. A branch of computer science that deals with the creation of intelligent machines that behave like humans.
AGI Artificial General Intelligence. A type of artificial intelligence that has the capacity to understand, learn, and apply knowledge in the same way a human would.
GPT Generative Pre-training Transformer. An autoregressive language model that uses machine learning to produce human-like text.
LLM Language Learning Model. A type of AI model that learns to understand and generate language based on inputs it’s trained on.

Elsewhere LLM is explained as large language model. A specialized type of artificial intelligence (AI) that has been trained on vast amounts of text to understand existing content and generate original content.
